OmniSci Community Guidelines

OmniSci provides Community tools and services to let members learn from, collaborate with, and encourage one another. We expect members to abide by the following guidelines, and we reserve the right to remove any activity or content that we feel violates them. We will always attempt to counsel and advise users when we do so. In rare cases, we might remove a user who refuses to learn from intervention.

We consider every participant in these tools and services to be a member… whether you’re a researcher, customer, end user, developer, employee of OmniSci, or just a curious explorer. All are valued; all are held to the same standards.

Be Nice

OmniSci does not tolerate discrimination or insults based on race, creed, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or presentation, marital status; or any other group, category, or class to which the individual belongs, rather than on individual merit.

We value openness and honesty. We expect and approve a level of familiarity and humor. We do not tolerate personal insults. We recommend staying away from divisive and emotionally-laden topics such as religion, politics, and finances.

Be Helpful

The Community functions best when its members help each other. Share your wisdom and experience. Share your use cases. Share your challenges. Suggest solutions. Congratulate victories. Offer learnings, constructive criticism, and code. Report bugs and help fix them. Request features and offer ideas. Don’t just lurk or complain… contribute.

Be Free

The Community is not a place to sell yourself, nor your product and/or service. We expect people to network and find opportunities, but offering your help for a price in our channels is not appropriate. If that’s your intent, let your reputation be your sales tactic and let others come to you.

Terms of Service

Yes, legalese is boring, but we must protect ourselves – and by extension, you and your data – against unfriendly folks. We have a Terms of Service describing your (and our) behavior and rights related to content, privacy, and laws. To use this service, you must agree to abide by our TOS.
